Hi there!
My name is Skylar Kennedy
but feel free to call me "Sky"ッ

Who am I?
To keep it short and simple, I am an innovator. I enjoy the process of creating new ideas, products, services - you name it. I have always been creative since a young age. One of my main hobbies include jewelry making, which I even decided to turn into a business in high school.
I would describe myself as someone who likes to "go with the flow". Life is short as it is and I am a true believer in enjoying the present moment. I am also extremely passionate about helping others. It really is the simple things in life that can turn someones day around. Whether that be holding the door open for a stranger or talking, listening, and empathizing with a close friend or family member, I enjoy it all and truly feel that this strength of mine benefits me in this career path.
In my free time I enjoy thrifting, seeing live music, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. :)
My Experience so far
My background includes pursuing a bachelor's and master's degree in Human Systems Engineering and experience as an IoT Intern. From my education and Internship experience I have been able to gain insight as how to solve complex problems by understanding human capabilities and limitations.
I started on my UX Design journey in the summer of 2021 where I took a Google UX Design Course through Coursera. Since then, I have gained real world experience as an IoT Intern at Alto-shaam in both the summer of 2022 and 2023. In this position, I primarily focused on conducting market research to gain insight on user experience processes throughout the restaurant industry. I also completed a variety of projects that involved designing or re-designing user interfaces as well as recieved feedback on the designs from internal stakeholders. I have loved every second of learning the ins- and outs- of how to design a great user experience and am excited to continue learning throughout my masters degree!
